Begin your journey in the sophisticated capital city of Buenos Aires, home to a great café culture and the passionate tango. Indulge in the history and classic architecture that make the city unqiue. Marvel at one of the world's most impressive natural wonders, the Iguazu Falls. Lying on the border with Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay; there are 275 different waterfalls spanning an area of 3km. Journey south to the heart of Patagonia to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few 'growing' glaciers found anywhere on Earth. Finish your Argentine adventure at the foot of the Andes mountains just outside Mendoza. One of the world's most famous wine regions, with its Malbec wine widely recognised, visit some of the famous wineries and sample some of the worlds finest wines.

Itinerary

Depart London for your overnight flight to Buenos Aires.
Arrival to Buenos Aires in the morning and transfer to the Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau. Combining the stylish architecture from the original 1932 French Duhau Palace with modern design and comfort, this is a haven of luxury in the heart of Recoleta. You are ideally located for fantastic art galleries, upmarket boutiques and pavement cafes. The rest of the day is at leisure. Buenos Aires is commonly known as the “Paris of South America”, owing to its classical architecture, plazas, fountains and wide boulevards.
With your private guide explore the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. Visit some of the characterful neighbourhoods including the colourful district of La Boca with its quirky caminitos, upmarket Recoleta and trendy Palermo. You also visit the Plaza de Mayo flanked by the presidential palace (the Casa Rosada).
Today is at leisure. Optional excursions include a visit to an estancia out in the Pampas to enjoy a gaucho show and sample a delicious Argentine quincho BBQ. Alternatively, ask us about a tango show and steak dinner.
Depart today to fly to Iguazu. Enjoy a tour of the Argentine side of the falls before transferring to your hotel for the next 2 nights. Made up of 275 separate falls and surrounded by lush vegetation, the rich sub-tropical forest is home to a vast array of wildlife including tropical birds, butterflies, monkeys and coatamundis. A series of pathways running through the national park allow for exceptional views from several vantage points.
Cross over the border into Brazil today to visit the Brazilian side of the falls. A paved pathway of 3km leads its way along the side of the falls and provides panoramic views over the Argentinean side, often framed by rainbows straddling the clouds of spray. Finally, the earth appears to open as an amass of thundering falls crash over a horseshoe-shaped precipice nearly 5km wide and 90 metres high. For a real treat, why not take a short helicopter ride for aerial views over the falls?
Staying at   Loi Suites Iguazu
Fly today to El Calafate in the heart of Patagonia, via Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, you will be met and taken to your hotel for the next 2 nights. The Patagonia region offers spectacular wild and majestic scenery in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (Glaciers National Park) - a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 and a land of colossal mountain ranges crowned in snow and pristine glaciers descending into turquoise lakes. Your luxury lodge, Eolo, is situated within 3000 hectares of beautiful Patagonian steppe, commanding spectacular views in every direction. Included with your stay at this Relais & Chateaux property are all meals and a selection of activities such as trekking, mountain biking and birdwatching. If you would like us to add an extra night at Eolo in order to have more time to explore this wonderful wilderness please let us know.
Staying at   Eolo
Visit the Los Glaciares National Park and most importantly, the El Perito Moreno Glacier. A huge river of ice 30km long and 5km wide, descends from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field to Lago Argentino. As it advances, the ice cracks and produces thunderous roars that reverberate from deep within the glacier, producing a hugely impressive show. Walk along the paths in front of its western wall allows you to admire this natural wonder from different viewpoints and take the boat trip to enjoy views of the glacier wall from lake level.
Staying at   Eolo
Depart Patagonia today to fly to Mendoza, the gateway to Argentina’s spectacular wine lands. Spend the next 3 nights on winery. The area around Mendoza contributes to 70% of Argentina's wine production and Malbec is the region's specialty. The agro-ecological conditions are almost perfect hence why the area has been chosen to produce the most exquisite and finest wines in the country.
Enjoy a full day tour of nearby wineries. Visit 3 different wineries and have a gourmet lunch.
Staying at   Alpasion Lodge
Today is at leisure. The area around Mendoza is wonderful for visiting many different wineries and bodegas, riding bikes, horse riding and relaxing.
Staying at   Alpasion Lodge
Depart Mendoza to Buenos Aires for your final night.
Transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home. Please note, for an alternate ending to an Argentine itinerary, a stay around Bariloche and the Lake District area is also an option. Alternatively, Argentina has many beautiful regions, whether you want to spot wildlife on the Valdes Peninsula, horse ride at a traditional estancia, self-drive around Salta and the spectacular north-west; please enquire for details on how we can tailor the itinerary to suit your needs and interests.
