This trip gives you time to really enjoy the hotels and their facilities. July to August is South Africa's winter and is not the time of year to head to the beach in the Western Cape but its ideal for a relaxing break and excellent for a safari in the Kruger as it's the dry season and animals congregate around the water holes, making it easier to spot a wide variety of game. Mornings and evenings can be chilly but days are usually warm and sunny.
You spend four luxurious nights in a deluxe suite at the award-winning Cape Royale, a centrally located suite hotel, ideal for exploring Cape Town and surrounds. It's an easy drive to Franschhoek Country House which is your base for exploring the Winelands, and you spend three nights here. Franschhoek, nick-named South Africa’s ‘culinary capital’, feels like a village, and is set in a picturesque valley surrounded by vineyards with a quaint high street filled with excellent restaurants.
You then return your car to Cape Town airport and fly to the Kruger National Park area, where you stay for three nights in a garden cottage at the luxurious Cybele Lodge and Spa. Explore the scenic Mpumalanga area, see God’s Window and the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest, or just relax with one of the spa treatments on offer at Cybele. Our holiday includes a complimentary Panorma Tour of the spectacular Blyde River Canyon area.
Complete your holiday with a three night safari at the intimate Shumbalala Game Lodge in the Thornybush Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park and renowned for superb all-round game viewing.
