

There are daily non-stop overnight flights between London and Johannesburg (flying time 10½ hours) and London and Cape Town (11 hours), with add-on fares from most regional airports. British Airways and South African Airways are our main partners.
Virgin Atlantic flies daily to Johannesburg and daily to Cape Town until 22 April, resuming again on 1 October. KLM flies daily to Johannesburg and this can be convenient to use from certain regional airports.
Inside South Africa there is an excellent network of connecting domestic flights, as well as a very good regional network servicing the neighbouring countries.
British and European Union passport holders do not require visas for holiday visits. A full passport valid for six months beyond your date of return is required, with at least two empty pages for immigration stamps.
No vaccinations are required for people arriving from Europe. Malaria is present in some eastern parts of the country. Tap water is safe to drink and hospitals are world-class.
