For travel in Africa, you need a full passport which is valid for six months beyond your date of return. Children require their own passports. For South Africa and Namibia, two full pages must be blank. Several countries require visas – consult the country section – which can usually be purchased on arrival. Prices can be high, but this is often a reflection of the high charge their nationals have to pay for a UK visa. All passports, visas, driving licenses and health requirements are the responsibility of the traveller. If you do not hold a British passport, please inform us when you book. Otherwise, we cannot be held responsible for any difficulty, delay or extra expense incurred.
You should take precautions against malaria if travelling to Botswana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Rwanda, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe as well as certain parts of Ethiopia, South Africa (including Kruger Park) and northern Namibia.
At the time of writing, there are no mandatory health requirements for visitors travelling direct from the UK to the countries featured on this website. You should consult your general practitioner at least six weeks prior to travel for up-to-date advice on inoculations and anti-malaria precautions. General advice is also available from the Department of Health website, www.doh.gov.uk/traveladvice
Certain countries require proof of immunisation against Yellow Fever for travellers arriving from counties where there is deemed to be a risk. Both the Seychelles and Mozambique require a yellow fever certificate for travellers arriving from Kenya or Tanzania; Tanzania requires a yellow fever certificate from travellers arriving from Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Rwanda or Ethiopia. We will notify you on any compulsory health requirements at time of booking.
