Belmond Das Cataratas

Belmond Das Cataratas is the only hotel within the national park and holds an unrivaled position overlooking the falls. Surrounded by sub-tropical jungle, the emerald forest teems with exotic flora and fauna. It offers access to guests once the park has closed so guests have private access early morning and in the evening. The paved pathway that weaves its way along the side of the falls before reaching the Devil's Throat starts from just outside the property. Amidst thick vegetation; only some rooms can offer partial waterfall views. Designed in a colonial style oozing refined elegance, the baby pink property has been renovated to the highest of standards. There is a wonderful pool area and the manicured gardens are dotted with palms. There are two restaurants, one of which offers relaxed alfresco dining in the pool area and the other an a la carte menu in front of the falls. Rooms are comfortable and blend Amazonian and colonial Portuguese influences into their decor.
