is one of the longest service lodges in Uganda, established in 1954; it overlooks the River Nile about one hour down stream from the one of the world’s most powerful flows of natural water Murchison Falls. Conveniently located on the northern bank of the Nile, clients can enjoy early morning and late evening wildlife drives, as well as boat trips along the River Nile, and hikes to the top of the falls and marvel in awe at the view through the mist.
Built as a hotel in the bush the lodge offers a unique blend of comfort, relaxation and adventure. The 54 rooms and the Queen’s Cottage are all styled with safari décor that still reflect the bygone era of early explorers, coupled with a modern touch. The luxurious pool overlooks the winding River Nile below, which was the setting for the classic Hollywood movie "The African Queen" (starring Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart).
