Nkuringo Gorilla Camp is 2,100m above sea level, perched on Nteko Ridge overlooking the distant peaks of the Virungas on one side and the forest-clad slopes of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on the other.
This exclusive lodge is only one of two lodges on the Bwindi side which is away from the crowds. It offers a row of eight terraced rooms, two private cottages and 4 safari tents, sensitively constructed using local materials with shared facilities. The main area has dinning area, open air cultural performance area and fair–trade community market.
The owners work closely with the local community to ensure authenticity of the cultural experiences, support local producers and are the first and only to date in Uganda to obtain a carbon neutral status, an accolade for such a remote location.
