Buhoma Lodge is one of the original lodges in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, situated diagonally opposite the park entrance, about five minute’s walk to the gorilla trekking centre. The elevated main areas give spectacular views over the tropical rainforest with lounge, dinning and fireplace to gather around in the evenings. The property has strong environmental and social policies, with local sourced ingredients where possible, solar power and local staff to name a few. There is also free wifi in public areas.
Each of the eight spacious cottages have comfy beds and a private verandah, en suite flush loo, hot shower and some with bath tubs. Children and families welcome. A solar power system provides lighting for the rooms and communal areas but some electricity for charging equipment.
Gorilla trekking is the main activity, however also enjoy birding which can be done from your room. Or Visit the local Batwa Pygmy community.
