Motswari Private Game Reserve a privately owned game lodge situated deep in the ‘Big Five’ Timbavati Private Game Reserve of 150 square kilometres which forms part of the Great Kruger National Park.
The main area is stone building with a thatch roof with African feel decor offering views onto the banks of the perennial Sohebele River. The bar area opens onto the deck and rock lined pool, a perfect spot for watching game coming to the nearby river bed and plains.
The 15 rooms are the original thatched rondavel style with double doors opening onto patios with scenic views of the bush and the river. The comfortable, well appointed rooms have air conditioning, four poster beds with mosquito nets and en suite bathrooms.
In operation since 1980, with strong conservation and community values, hence the Tswana name Motwari, meaning 'to conserve and protect'. Guides are residents of the area with an intimate knowledge of the area and its wildlife, taking you on extended 3 ½ hour game drives in the early morning and late afternoon when wildlife is at its most prolific.
In addition to this, there is an opportunity for a guided walking safari with highly experience and armed trail-guides, a wonderful chance to see the little things up close and enjoy the quite of the bush.
