Londolozi Granite Camp provide extraordinary, exclusive accommodation for no more than six people in the Londolozi Private Game Reserve, a vast area with breeding herds of elephant and buffalo, high concentrations of lion and white rhino, and the famous Londolozi leopards, in the heart of the Sabi Sands.

Accommodation

The three sumptuous Granite Suites were completed in June 2007. They are hidden in riverine forest on the banks of the Sand River, ensuring extra privacy. Large doors and windows open onto the river, and connect you with the bush. Each expansive suite is furnished with elegance and has a large timber deck with an individual, private swimming pool.

Food

Delicious meals embody the Londolozi experience, and reflect its approach. The kitchens use free-range and organic ingredients, enhanced with herbs and produce from the Londolozi kitchen garden. Londolozi seeks to minimise its use of imported ingredients.

Activities

You will have an early morning and late afternoon/evening game drive each day. Safari vehicles are open Landrovers and Londolozi’s rangers and trackers are truly excellent. Walking safaris provide a different perspective on the bush. Bird-watching, stargazing and bush banquets complement the game-viewing. Overnight bush sleep-outs, tracking and the full moon walk are other tailor-made opportunities. You can visit the staff village and begin to understand why the Londolozi staff is so committed. In addition, there is a daily yoga class at sunrise and sunset; or you can have a private yoga lesson on your deck or on one of the mobile yoga decks.

Facilities

The wellness centre, located at Varty Camp, offers Swedish massage, aromatherapy and reiki healing. The well-equipped exercise room overlooks the Sand River – and the swimming pool. Londolozi has developed an original programme of workouts derived from the characteristics of its wildlife, and the fitness instructors are on hand to help you. The cinematography centre shows films about the environment each day.

Community

Londolozi is deeply committed to the welfare and development of its staff and their families. The pioneering continuing education programme is individually designed for the needs, talents and aspirations of each person.

Many of the families in the staff village have lived there for over 30 years and you can visit the crèche, clinic, adult learning centre and the craft centre.

Access

Federal Air operates daily flights from OR Tambo International Airport to Londolozi Airstrip. Transfers by road (2 hours) or by air (20 mins) are available from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. You can also drive in by car. There is a Sabi Sands Reserve gate fee of R70 per vehicle.

Relais & Chateaux

Londolozi has been a member of Relais & Chateaux since 1993, has won three Relais & Chateaux trophies since 2005, and has an well-deserved reputation as one of Africa’s most exclusive safari lodges. It is distinguished by a luxurious elegance that complements the bush, that never dominates the natural environment; and by the owners, whose family has been at Londolozi for four generations.
