Heinitzburg Hotel is the Ritz of Windhoek. A small, converted castle with impressive views over the city and mountains, this formal ‘Relais & Chateaux’ hotel offers 5-star luxury.
It is well situated for exploring Windhoek – just a 10-15 minute walk to the centre. Commissioned in 1941 by Count von Schwerin as a gift for his fiancée, the hotel has retained much of its original elegance.
The 16 rooms are traditional in style, and all have air-conditioning, cable TV and direct-dial telephone. The restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and the wine cellar is renowned for its excellent South African vintages.
Light meals are available throughout the day, served on the garden terrace, where guests can also enjoy sundowners in the magnificent Namibian sunset.
