Saruni Ocean opened in December 2014 and sets a new standard on the Kenya coast– deserted beachfront away from the crowds, beautiful thatched and air-conditioned suites with unending views of the ocean that is also a health and wellness retreat. With just 6 luxury villa’s consisting of 14 beautifully designed and furnished suites, Saruni Ocean is an intimate property located on Kenya's secluded south coast in magical Msambweni (30 minutes from Diani) – the perfect escape for honeymoons and family downtime on the beach, and a fantastic beginning or end to any safari adventure. Each suite has sea views, has a large bedroom area with stunning ensuites and all have inside lounges and outside seating areas for downtime. The real beauty of staying here is the design of the property and also the location, this is real Kenya away from the busy beach areas, the little village of Msambweni is like stepping back in time and the beach is beautiful with only one other property at the other end of the beach. The beach is lined by private villa residences many owned by expats wanting to escape to the peace and tranquillity of Msambweni. Centred around an authentic health and wellness experience, guests at Saruni Ocean can relax and rejuvenate at the spa and on the six kilometers of pristine, white sand beachfront. At Saruni Ocean you can do as little or as much as you like – a walk along the beach is spectacular and you will see all the local fishing boats coming in and not be hassled by any beach boys. For activities you can go snorkelling, kite surfing and kayaking and experience the local village of Msambweni. There are local dhow trips to deserted beaches and turtle nesting sites. If you are feeling active you can participate in yoga or pilates and run on the blissfully quiet beach. Saruni Ocean has the largest pool in Kenya and relaxing in the gardens overlooking the sea is serene, relaxing and blissful! There is a lovely bar and restaurant area with sea views and numerous seating areas to relax and have some peace and quiet. The food is a real highlight of your stay here, you can have menu catered to your tastes and there are menu choices at all meal times. Due to the location there is lots of fish on the menu, fresh lobsters, crabs and octopus are regular appearances on the menu! Meals are a real highlight and Complimenting the Saruni safari lodge collection perfectly, Saruni Ocean reflects the same attention to detail, beautiful style, fresh cuisine, and secluded location – a truly exceptional and special experience.
