FREGATE ISLAND A 20-minute helicopter flight east from Mahé, Frégate Island’s pure shores encircle tropical forests inhabited by some of the world’s most endangered species – and a resort of 16 thatched, luxury villas built of traditional materials and crafted to provide the highest degree of privacy and comfort.
Fourteen of the villas perch on top of the cliffs and enjoy panoramic views of the ocean. Two nestle in their own private tropical gardens and are ideal for families with young children. Each villa is equipped to the highest standard, with a bedroom, linked lounge, two bathrooms, sundeck and private jacuzzi.
The two restaurants offer gourmet meals using produce from the island’s own plantation. An open-air bar serves light lunches and snacks. Meals can also be served in your villa.
Complimentary facilities include pool, gym, mountain bicycles, non-motorised watersports, diving introduction, guided walks and an excellent Castaway Kids Club & Clubhouse and children’s games room.
Frégate has its own fleet of boats for excursions, game fishing or charter, and a PADI dive centre for instruction or exploring Chimney Rocks and the rich underwater world encircling the island.
The Rock Spa is the first indigenous spa in the Seychelles. Massage, reflexology and babysitting are also available.
With an area of only 3 sq km, Frégate, and its hidden coves of beautiful white sand, is ideal for exploring on foot, by bike or in your private golf-buggy. Discover banyan and sandragon trees, and coco de mer palms.
Frégate contains half the world’s remaining Seychelles magpie robins. Blue pigeons and sunbird inhabit the island and the frigate bird, to which the island owes its name, feeds out at sea. Giant tortoises and green and hawksbill turtles are resident. Ecologists are available to guide you.
