Kenya

The seven honeymoon wonders of the world

Brides   1/01/07

From diving heaven to an Africa Safari, we’ve chosen incredible trips of a lifetime. Why not make one of them your honeymoon?

Sleep under the stars in Kenya

Why

What could be sweeter than sleeping under the legendary Kenyan sky?

When

The dry seasons are from December to March and from June to September.

What to know

Make the most of your stay under African skies and combine it with a safari to see elephants and lions, and a visit to the Masai Mara game park. End your trip on the beautiful Kenyan coast.

Honeymoon hideaway

Loisaba Lodge is a luxurious camp overlooking the Laikipia plateau in northern Kenya. Spend the night in its Koija Star Bed. Guarded by Maasai warriors, the mosquito-netted four-poster is situated on a raised platform above a river or water hole.

Rainbow Tours (020 7226 1004; www.rainbowtours.co.uk) offers a 15-day trip from £3,997 per person. This includes flights from London and transfers, three nights each at Elephant Watch Camp and Saruni Camp, two nights at Loisaba, one night at Loisaba Star Beds, five nights at Baumontia House at Kilfi on the coast, all meals, local drinks, sightseeing, a massage at Saruni, and the use of a chef at Baumontia House (meals and drinks excluded).
