Wild Coast: Accommodation
MORGAN BAY HOTEL is in a beautiful, unspoiled bay at the western end of the Wild Coast, just 85 km from East London. Run by the same family for more than half a century, this is a traditional hotel with good food, warm hospitality and plenty of seaside activities around the secluded, golden beaches and the adjoining lagoon. The bedrooms are just metres from the sea and look straight out at the Indian Ocean.
It’s an area that’s just made for walking, with nature reserves on the doorstep. You can relax by the pool, go to Kei Mouth and see the fossil bed, visit a Xhosa village, canoe on the lagoon or cruise on the Kei River. There is a wide diversity of birds and other fauna and flora within a comparatively small area. The bird list for the surrounding area currently includes more than 270 species.
